A tour that takes in two of India's most fascinating cities, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Visit three of India's finest UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Cave Temple Complexes at Ellora and Ajanta and the vast ruins of the ancient Vijayanagar capital at Hampi alongwith the eclectic architecture of the Group of Monuments at Pattadakal.

Description

Day 01: Arrive in Mumbai.
On arrival in Mumbai, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Mumbai visiting the Dhobi Ghat, where you will see some five thousand men washing clothes on the river, a great photo opportunity, and Mani Bhawan, where Mahatma Gandhi once lived, and which is now a museum. Overnight in Mumbai.

Day 02: Mumbai to Aurangabad.
Morning flight to Aurangabad. On arrival, transfer to the hotel for 2 nights stay. Afternoon visit to Bibi Ka Makbara, the so-called “poor man’s Taj Mahal”. Overnight in Aurangabad.

Day 03: Excursion to Ellora and Ajanta Caves
Early morning departure to visit the Ellora and Ajanta Caves. Dating as far back as the 2nd Century BC, the caves’ complexes consist of Hindu, Jain and Buddhist temples and monasteries, all hewn from out of the mountainside. The highlight of the caves is the Kailasa Temple in Ellora, which is the biggest monolithic structure in the world. Overnight in Aurangabad.

Day 04: Aurangabad to Hyderabad.
Day at leisure. Overnight onboard train for Hyderabad in a sleeper.

Day 05: Hyderabad.
Morning arrival. Transfer to the hotel for a 2 nights stay. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 06: Sightseeing in Hyderabad.
Full sightseeing tour of Hyderabad, visiting the four towers of the Charminar, the Golconda Fort and visit the famous Laad Bazaar, a great place for shopping and a highlight of any visit to the city. Overnight in Hyderabad.

Day 07: Overnight Train to Hospet.
Morning at leisure. Afternoon departure by train to Hospet. Overnight on board train in a sleeper.

Day 08: Hospet.
Dawn arrival in Hospet. Transfer to hotel for 2 nights stay. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 09: Excursion to Hampi (World Heritage Site).
Full day sightseeing guided tour of Hampi. Once the seat of the great Vijayanagar Empire and the centre of Hindu rule for over two hundred years from 1336, today it is one of the most mesmerizing historical sites in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 10: Hospet to Badami.
Morning departure to Badami. On arrival, transfer to the hotel for 2 nights stay. Afternoon visit to the surrounding hills which are dotted with beautiful cave temples.

Day 11: Excursion to Pattadakal (World Heritage Site).
Full day sightseeing tour of the stunning Dravidian temple and cave complexes at nearby Pattadakal and Aihole.

Day 12: Drive to Goa.
Early morning departure by road to Goa. Upon arrival you will check in at your hotel for 3 nights stay.

Days 13 to 14: Goa.
Days at leisure.

Day 15: Goa to Mumbai.
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Mumbai. A day room will be provided as international flights tend to depart in the early hours of the morning.

Day 16: Depart Mumbai.
Transfer to airport t in time to check in for your return flight.
